1. First, Make Sure your Blog is SEO Optimized

Your blog lives on your website, and when optimized for SEO, prospects can find you by searching keywords. There are several tools to help with SEO research, including Ahrefs, Moz, SEM Rush, SEO Book, and more! You can also hire an SEO expert to help optimize your website and blogs.

2. Your Blog is Not at the Mercy of Social Media Algorithms

You probably already know how frustrating it is to be at the mercy of social media algorithms. The beauty of blogging is that YOU own your original content and can use it however you choose. Push snippets of your blog to your email list, or use them in video content. You’re the boss, so you decide where your audience is hanging out and share your content in those places.

3. Repurpose your Blog into Social Media Posts. 

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m a huge advocate of taking what you’ve already written and using it multiple ways. You can divide up a 500-word blog post into 15 pieces of original social media content without any problem. These can be micro-blogs, videos, simple captions, or all three!

4. Generate more Leads.

According to a HubSpot study, companies that blog only 1-2 times per month generate 70% more leads than those who don’t blog. The more you blog consistently, the more likely you’ll show up in keyword searches. If this sounds like a no-brainer, well, it is!

5. Provide More Value through your Blog. 

Think less about word count and more about writing detailed articles, which can improve the likelihood you’ll show up in search engine rankings. What topics will attract your ideal client? Figure that out, and you’re way ahead of the competition.

6. Blogging Consistently is Golden!

You don’t have to blog every day or even every week. Just commit to a regular schedule and be consistent. Larger companies have a dedicated team of bloggers so that they might blog every day. If you’re a solopreneur or small business, you might blog weekly or 1-2 times per month. The most important thing is consistency and showing up when you say you will.

7. A Little Blogging goes a Long Way!

Blogging doesn’t need to suck up all of your time. You’d be surprised how quickly you can write 500-words, which is a recommended minimum word count for a blog. Pick a topic, and start writing as if you’re sending an email to a friend. When you’re done, look to see how much you’ve written. It’s probably more than you imagined.
